The hotel is very clean and the rooms are to a very high standard. Good location although this is not a central hotel.
The hotel advertises a gym but apparently this isn't finished yet so there is no gym available. Limited choice for breakfast.
The room was kept very tidy. A big TV, free WiFi.
I stayed here late March and it was still chilly in New York. The air conditioning was not working efficiently and winds came through the shut window, so it was quite difficult to keep the spacious room warm and confortable. Also, it is situated in the mid of China Town. It was a bit scary to walk on the street from the nearest subway station after the sunset. To me the pictures on the website give a different (too good) impression. I booked this hotel because it was highly recommended, but I don't approve it at all.
The staff was friendly. The hotel looked very new and the rooms were clean.
In the center of China town, you will experience what is it like to be a Chinese American in big city. Columbus park is right in front, which you will see the local use it all day long. Parking is close by and cost 36 per day. Wifi is free but in my room I have to sit closer to the door due to range issue. In short, staff are very friendly, hotel is very new and nice. If you love china town, this hotel is a no brain er. Free breakfast are good too. All the good chinese and vietnamese are close by.
The only negative I experienced is using hotel taxi service. Next time I would just use yellow cab.
The location is good. It's convenient to go to lower Manhattan. High speed free wi-fi.
The room was too small and too expensive as well. It's Manhattan but still it costs a lot compared to the service. It was the breakfast that I am greatly disappointed. There was no dinning hall in hotel, so I had to eat in the small lobby. It was really uncomfortable.
Everyone at the hotel was very nice and courteous! The room was great and the location is central to seeing so many things within a short walk or quick metro ride.
the staff at the reception desk were helpeful, also the room was very clean.
The cleanliness/quietness and service provided by the staff. They were always very friendly and willing to assist.
The wifi - I never was able to get on using my IPOD touch. My sister who has a IPOD as well was not able to get on even with the assistance of the staff.
Beautiful rooms, ensuite and recently refurbished. Excellent sevice. Central location in Manhattan. Good value for money compared with other hotels in New York.
Would have liked the choice of a lighter breakfast. I didn't always want eggs, pancakes or french toast. Cereal, toast or just fruit and yoghourt would have been nice some days. Didn't want sweet french toast, but sugar on everything!
We were very pleased with all the things mentioned above - room comfort was excellent, cleanliness superb and especially the hotel staff which was very friendly and helpful in every way. We were also very pleased with the hotel location which made it very easy to see many of the main tourist attractions by foot.
The elevator did not seem to work perfectly but was ok and some of us thought that the breakfast was a bit simple.
Checking in and out was hassle free, staff were very helpfull, rooms and bathrooms were immaculate, comfy beds and very good shower.
Very clean room and toilet, friendly staff and brand new building. Our room had a awesome view to the Financial District (we where in the 10th floor) and the room size for Manhattan was ok. The location is in China Town (not the most clean area in the city), but we knew it and the subway station is very close to the hotel. We would for sure recommend or stay in this hotel again....
The breakfast was served in another place and was poor. They had just 2 options: eggs or pancake.
Very clean and modern
Breakfast voucher was for too little.
very low grade breakfast arrangment with neighbouring restaurant
We booked Hotel Mulberry because of its value for money - it is hard to find a decent hotel on Manhattan for this kind of price, and believe me, we searched! Hotel Mulberry did not disappoint - the rooms are of 4* quality: great bed, nice bathroom, free and decent quality wifi, big tv with lots of channels - no complaints. The staff were nice - they booked us a taxi to JFK (which was 55 dollars) and stored our luggage for us during the day after check out time. Breakfast is a couple of doors down at 'Mamas.' We really enjoyed our breakfasts - the choice is decent and tasty, although not the best if you want really healthy options - it is quite 'american'! I would note that there are not that many Manhattan hotels that offer breakfast as part of the fixed price - something to consider. Location: it's right in the heart of Chinatown! We quite enjoyed the experience, felt a bit more 'real' than some of the places uptown! Good chinese restaurants as well! Little italy is up the street, soho walkable distance too (go shopping in soho and then have lunch in little italy!), financial district down the street. Several subway stops with good connections to uptown, all walkable distance. All in all, we would stay here again!
Although this did not bother us because we did so much walking during our stay, Hotel Mulberry does not have a gym, which may bother some fitness fanatics. Also, although the location is great for many things, if your primary reason for visiting NY is to go the galleries, museums and maybe broadway, I would consider staying somewhere a bit further uptown. We didn't mind taking the subway in the morning (which for example takes about 40 minutes door to door to get to the Natural History museum), but if we were coming back to the hotel late at night after a show or dinner we didn't feel comfortable enough taking the subway, so would take a taxi instead, which costs about 20 dollars from times square.
